Veterans, current service members, and their families are invited to Albany Law School for in-person one-on-one legal consultations from a volunteer attorney. This is a free event presented by The Edward P. Swyer Justice Center at Albany Law School’s Veterans' Pro Bono Project. This year we have partnered with the McNulty Veteran Business Center and The Legal Project to include expanded resources for this Veteran Services and Counseling Consortium.

Participating veteran services organizations and other resources will be tabled with information and representatives in the areas of veteran benefits, housing assistance, veteran entrepreneurship, and legal expertise. They include:

Registration and Appointments

To register, click the button above and fill out the form. You will be asked to make an appointment time and notify us of the issue you would like to speak to an attorney about. If you have difficulty registering, please contact alumni@albanylaw.edu or (518) 445-3206.

Preparation for Event:

Registration required (Walk-ins limited).
Arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment.
Park in the 2000 Building Lot

In Memory of Albany Law School Classmate SSG Joseph Gentile (1985-2020)

The Veterans' Pro Bono Project is presented in memory of one of our recent Albany Law School classmates, SSG Joseph Gentile. Joseph was born on March 14, 1985 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A 2002 graduate of Shelton High School, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2003, serving his country courageously during several tours overseas where he earned the Combat Action Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. Joseph medically retired in 2015 and moved back to Connecticut to rehabilitate. He met his soulmate Jillian and her son Frank in late 2015 and were married in 2018. They settled in the Poughkeepsie, New York area so Joe could attend Marist College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Paralegal Certificate in the hopes of going to law school. He achieved this goal in August of 2020 and was looking forward to his first year at Albany Law School. An adored and doting husband, loving and caring father and stepfather, he will forever be remembered for his silent strength, loyalty, integrity, and selflessness.
